Little Wander: Driftwood

I have to say this is the first Folktronic I've experienced, and Imma put you on the funk. With the unlikely combo of Folk and Electronic, APOB and his brother created the group Little Wander. Dropping their first single 'Driftwood' is what they say,"Just like PB+J, a folk sensibility + electronic agility = instant classic." So check it for yourself, experience the new new, and thank me later.

Asher Roth: Greenhouse Effect Vol. 2

Asher Roth gets back for a second round with Dj Drama and Don Cannon for the Greenhouse Efffect Vol 2. I loved the first Greenhouse Effect, it really set the record for Asher's early style (released back in 2008). This tape has some great samples along with the undiscovered raps we've all been missing from the original college bro. So listen & download. Get that good good.

A$AP Ferg Freestyle

Ever since Ferg laid justice on A$AP Rocky's "Kissin' Pink" I couldn't help but watch his successful solo rise. Here's a small piece of the Lord's talents, please enjoy your Holiness freestyle.

The Shepard Collection

Glad to wake up this morning to find that my boy Shepard has set up an archive of all his released mixtapes for free download. Shepard's beats are some of my favorite because they simply don't need words. You can listen to his collection and let your mind get carried away with the sound of the wave. So enjoy this wavy ish, it's good for the soul.

HAHA-YO: Hey

A good friend of mine suggested I check out HAHA-YO the other day, and I have to say this might be my favorite bro duo yet. Together, Boyder and Lukey created their first EP "Hey" which is essentially the poety of party.
Not only are their songs catchy but their lyrics are hilarious, but this sound didn't just come out of nowhere. According to their website Lukey lead "A Cool Stick" as the lead singer and Boyder experienced working creatively with one of the original college bros (Asher Roth). Together they work to create a sound consisting of "pop, hip-hop, and yams". Whatever yams means. I mean I love yams, who doesn't??
Truthfully Hey is about to be the summer anthem, so take my advice, stream it & get that ish on itunes for real tho. ALSO check out their videos because they are just as dope. "It's My Birfday" and "Do What I Want" are my faves, so peep it & retrieve it. Don't say I didn't tell you so.

ALSO I SEE YOU BOYDER ROCKING THAT SYRACUSE JERSEY IN THE DO WHAT I WANT VIDEO, GOOD LOOKS BRUH.

Quadron: Avalanche

I came across advertisements for Quadron's new album "Avalanche" all over the internet. I figured since it was this much in my face, why not give a listen? I streamed Avalanche through Spotify and was immediately sold.
Quadron is so great because the Danish duo's sound is something that I have yet to  hear enough of from this generation. They've got a disco air to their sounds-- essentially what they like to call themselves, electronic soul.
If you're really into this album you should purchase it, because honestly it's one of a kind. But for now, enjoy one of my favorite tracks off the album, "Better Off" featuring Kendrick Lamar.

King Krule: The Noose of Jah City

It was like any Monday night, sitting in bed vibing to some good tunes while casually listening to Mac Miller guest Dj on Turntable. My curiosity got the best of me as I waited for Mac to play something I hadn't heard before. He shuffled through the obvious respectables; Schoolboy Q, Kendrick Lamar, The Internet, etc.
Then he played a track entitled "The Noose of Jah City" I had never heard of King Krule before, but I liked what I felt. I was taken back by this single track that I had to peep the whole EP, and there was no disappointment. The king himself describes the sound by using all genres as the beat and his brain as the meat grinder. So check this video and let your brain grind out to some King Krule.

Pharrell Williams: Happy

This feel-good song "Happy" is a contribution from P. Wills himself towards the sequel of Despicable Me. The Despicable Me 2 soundtrack is set to release June 18th, and should be nothing less of fun. So sit back, and enjoy the beginning of something great to come.

DJ Reflex vs Childish Gambino: Body So Tight

I've listened to Gambino mix his way into the dubstep/EDM scene and I haven't come across anything that I'm not pleased with. Gambino's shown some nice success with Flux Pavillion's latest album and has now worked with DJ Reflex on this anticipated EP set to release later this year. "Body So Tight" is the first single to be released so listen & download here first and thank me later.

Lana Del Rey: Queen of Disaster

I have to say I already went through my Lana phase and completely drowned out her last album where I listened to her sob about boys, BUT every once in a while she drops something that's hard not to listen to. Check out "Queen of Disaster" it's not her usual slow tune, more of an upbeat scale but she's still complaining about boys which oddly enough I can't get enough of. So eat your heart out ladies & gents.
